Mïk-gle Rudnoplu (/mɪk/ /gle/ [extinct] [kind; type]) is a temperate Town located in the Digitznä Principality of the City-state of Nika.

The name Mïk-gle Rudnoplu is derived from the Gnollish language, as Mïk-gle Rudnoplu was founded by Nåhnů vyim Yuvnorusg, who was culturaly Gnollish.

Climate

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu has a yearly average temperature of 4°C (39°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a cold 9°C (48°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a freezing -1°C (31°F). Mïk-gle Rudnoplu receives an average of 207 cm/y (81 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Mïk-gle Rudnoplu covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 2226 m (7303 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu was founded durring the early 13th century in spring of the year 1203, by Nåhnů vyim Yuvnorusg. The establishment of Mïk-gle Rudnoplu was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Nåhnů vyim Yuvnorusg electing to pay people to resettle in Mïk-gle Rudnoplu.

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu was built using the conventions of Gnollish durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Mïk-gle Rudnoplu is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu is buildings are arranged arround a network of spacious baked earthen streets which form a diamond shaped grid, where each diamond verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller diamond has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town rests behind the absurdity that is a thick, timber braced, wall made of clay bricks. While visualy impressive and certainly an astetic, Mïk-gle Rudnoplu's wall provides no actual defence against siege equipment due to the choice of its cosntruction materials. Even nonexperts can tell the town is trying to impress rather than defend with its walls, towers, and gatehouses. Though admittedly, they do look nice... To primitive tribals who have never seen fortifications before. Unfortuantly, these political statment focused walls are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

A look around Mïk-gle Rudnoplu is like a look into a broken heart. There is no planning, no organization. Everyone here clearly goes about their own thing with little thought to anyone around them who isn’t selling something they need. It’s not malicious. Heads are hung. Eyes are empty. Something truly horrible happened here once upon a time and the town never healed.

Civic Infrastructure

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Mïk-gle Rudnoplu. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Mïk-gle Rudnoplu's parks.

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Mïk-gle Rudnoplu.

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Mïk-gle Rudnoplu's grid is powered by a boiler and turbine based power plant.

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Mïk-gle Rudnoplu's natural decorations nor waterways.

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

The locals have cut a deal with some unspeakable entity, trading some form of tribute (benign of horrific) in exchange for the being’s forbearance or assistance. Outsiders may be ignorant of the bargain, or they may know that the community is in thrall but be too fearful of its master to take action against them. The creature likely serves as a protector as well as a tyrant, so the locals may be content with the deal even if it doesn’t offer any further inducement or aid.

Mïk-gle Rudnoplu's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is inspired by the natural world, characterized by sinuous, sculptural, organic shapes, arches, curving lines, and sensual ornamentation. Common motifs included stylized versions of leaves, flowers, vines, insects, animals, and other natural elements. Decorative elements found on the inside and outside of buildings include intricate mosaic work, curved windows, and decorative trim work. .
